Is there a mobile version of Marvel Rivals?
No. NetEase released Marvel Rivals for Windows, PlayStation and Xbox, with a Switch 2 version in development. There is no iPhone or Android version, and the game director has said a handheld version is not being discussed. Walter runs the PC version and streams it to your phone’s browser.
Are there other ways to play it on a phone?
The other routes are streaming too: Remote Play from your own PC or console at home, or a cloud service. Walter needs neither a PC nor a console at home.
Is Marvel Rivals free on Walter?
Marvel Rivals is free on Steam, and playing it on Walter is free during the early alpha. You need a Steam account, which costs nothing.
Do I need an app?
No. Walter runs in the browser. Open walter.gg on your phone and press play.
How do the controls work?
Touch, and a full keyboard on screen for WASD and every shortcut the game needs.
Does it work on an iPad?
Yes. Marvel Rivals runs on Walter’s machine, so a tablet plays it the same as a phone, on a bigger screen.
Do I keep my progress?
Yes. You sign in with your own Steam account inside the game window, so your progress, items and friends are the ones you already have.
Will it lag?
That depends on how far you are from the nearest Walter machine. Within 500km it plays like a rig under your desk. Further out you feel it in a shooter. The coverage page on walter.gg shows where the machines are.
Can I always play right away?
Not always. Walter is in early alpha and there are only so many machines. On a busy evening they can all be taken, and then you wait or come back later.
