How does it work?+
Browse Walter’s preinstalled library, press play and Walter spins up a gaming PC for you. Sign in to your own Steam where a game needs it, and play. It all streams to your screen.
What does it cost?+
One game is free every two weeks, on your own Steam account. The plan, a gaming PC for every game, is $0.99 a month for three months, then $9.99 a month for 40 credits. Cancel anytime. Curious what the hardware route costs instead? Print your rig bill.
Can I pay in euros, with iDEAL?+
Yes. In the euro area the checkout is in euros: €0.99 a month for three months, then €9.99 a month for 40 credits, by iDEAL, Bancontact or card. Everywhere else it is dollars, by card.
Will it lag?+
It depends on how close the nearest available gaming PC is. Walter picks the closest one, and if it is far away, Walter tells you before you start so you can decide. A wired connection or good wifi helps more than anything else on your side.
What devices are supported?+
A screen and a browser. That is the whole list. A laptop, a Mac, an old PC, your phone: Walter runs the game on his own gaming PC, so your hardware only has to show the picture. You don’t need a graphics card or an install. The TV app is almost done.
Can I play on my TV?+
Soon. The Walter app for Android TV and Google TV is almost done. The TV shows a short code, you type it at walter.gg/tv on your phone, and you play with the same account and the same plan. Bring a controller: the remote finds the game, a controller plays it.
Which games can I play?+
Tested and live today: Counter-Strike 2, Warframe and Marvel Rivals. Grand Theft Auto V is in the plan too, on your own copy. PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, Team Fortress 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are in the lab. A title only lands here once we have tested it end to end, and some games fight the hardware harder than others. That takes as long as it takes.
What does alpha mean?+
It means Walter works, and it is not finished. The lineup is short because every game is tested end to end before it lands, and a session can still stutter now and then. You are early, so Walter reads what you send him. Which title lands next depends on what that game lets us do, so we promise nothing on any single one.
