Terms of service

walter.gg runs games on our own gaming PCs and pixelstreams them to your browser. You press play, the game runs on our hardware, and the picture streams to whatever screen you are using. The service is operated by YOM B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce 94447934), trading as Walter ("Walter", "we").

Walter is currently in alpha. How it works: one title is free every two weeks, and a plan opens the rest of the lineup. What the plan costs is on the plans page.

The plan is paid by the month. How paying, cancelling and getting your money back work is set out below, under The plan, paying, and getting your money back. Nobody is signed up to a plan by reading about one.

An alpha means we are still building. By playing you accept that:

• The service is provided as is. Streams can stutter, drop or be unavailable.
• Sessions can end when we need the capacity, run maintenance or hit a bug.
• Games can be added and removed from the lineup without notice.
• Features can change or disappear while we tune the platform.
• Nothing you do in a demo session is saved unless we say otherwise.

In return the free title costs you nothing, and we read your feedback. Fair trade.

You play with a Walter account. Make one with an email address and a password, or sign in with Google or Steam. Confirm the address when we ask: it is how we reach you about the alpha, and how you get back in if you forget your password. How we handle it is covered in our privacy policy.

The account is yours alone, so keep the password to yourself and do not hand the account to anybody else. You can delete it whenever you like from your account page, and it goes for good. We can pause or withdraw access if these terms are broken.

One title is free every two weeks and needs no plan and no card. Everything else needs a plan. What it costs today is on the plans page, and that page is the price: we do not quote one figure there and charge another.

The price you see is the price you pay. It includes any VAT, GST or sales tax that applies where you live, so the amount on the plans page is the amount that leaves your account.

It renews every month until you stop it. When a plan starts at a promotional price, the plans page says what that price is, how many months it lasts and what it becomes afterwards, before you pay anything. We will not move you to a higher price without telling you first.

Cancel whenever you like, from your account page, in a couple of clicks and without talking to anybody. Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep playing until the end of the month you have already paid for, so nothing is cut off the moment you decide to leave. The one exception is deleting your account: that ends the plan the same moment, because there is no account left to play on, and the rest of that month is not refunded. The deletion screen says so before you confirm.

Fourteen days to change your mind, and we mean it. Ask within fourteen days of your first payment on a plan and we refund that payment in full. No reason needed, no questions, whether or not you played. Mail support@walter.gg from the address on the account.

That promise is ours and it is deliberately wider than the law requires. If you are an EU or UK consumer you also have a statutory right to withdraw within fourteen days of buying a service at a distance. Because a plan starts working the moment you pay, you are asked to agree that it starts immediately, which under those rules would normally end the statutory right early. Our own fourteen days do not depend on that, so you keep them either way.

If a payment fails we try again over the following days and tell you by email. Your plan pauses if it keeps failing, and your account and your handle stay exactly as they are: nothing is deleted because a card expired.

Some titles, like Counter-Strike 2, run on your own Steam account. You sign in to Steam inside the stream, on Valve's own sign-in screen. That means:

• Your Steam credentials go to Valve, not to us. We do not see or store them.
• Valve's own terms and the game publisher's terms apply to your use of those games.
• You are responsible for your own game account, its security and its purchases.
• Progress and achievements in those games land on your account, governed by Valve.

Keep it clean. While using Walter you agree not to:

• Cheat, exploit or use unauthorised automation in any game.
• Copy, record for redistribution, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the stream or the platform.
• Use the rigs for anything other than playing the games we offer (so no mining, no bots, no running your own software).
• Break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or harass other players.
• Probe, overload or attack the infrastructure.

We can end a session or withdraw alpha access immediately when this is breached. If a game publisher penalises your game account for cheating, that is between you and them.

You need to be 16 or older (or the applicable digital consent age in your country) to use walter.gg. By playing you confirm that you are.

The games belong to their publishers and are licensed by them, not by us. All titles, artwork and trademarks are property of their respective owners.

The walter.gg name, the Walter character, the site and the platform are ours. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use the service during the alpha, nothing more.

Feedback you send us about the alpha can be used by us to improve Walter, without obligation or compensation. That is what the alpha is for.

The service is provided as is, on the free title and on the plan alike, without warranties of availability, performance or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, lost data, lost progress or lost session time arising from use of the alpha.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. If you are an EU consumer, the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence continue to apply.

We can update these terms as the product evolves. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and for material changes we will tell you before they take effect. We can also pause or end the alpha itself. If we do, we will say so on the site.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may also apply. If something goes wrong, contact us first at legal@walter.gg and we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days before any formal steps. Formal disputes are brought before the competent court in the Netherlands.
