Privacy policy

We keep it to what we need to run Walter for you:

• Personal information: name, email address and your username when you sign up for the alpha or create an account.
• Account information: account ID, encrypted password, preferences, subscription status and your game library.
• Usage data: games played, session duration, features used and search queries, so we can see what works and what breaks.
• Payment information: billing address, the last 4 digits of your card and transaction history, processed by our payment provider. We never store full card numbers.
• Device information: device type, operating system, browser, IP address and screen resolution, so the stream fits your screen.
• Communications: support tickets, emails and feedback you send us.

We use your data to deliver and improve the service: run your game sessions, keep your account working, process payments, answer your support questions and understand which parts of Walter people actually use. If you joined the alpha, we use your email to write you about your access and, with your consent, about new games and features.

We do not sell your personal data. Ever.

We share data only with the processors that keep Walter running: hosting and streaming infrastructure, payment processing, analytics and customer support tooling. Each processor is bound by a data processing agreement. Data may be processed in the European Union (primary) and the United States (cloud services and analytics), with appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers.

• Account information: duration of your account plus 30 days.
• Payment records: 7 years (legal and tax compliance).
• Usage data: 2 years.
• Support tickets: 3 years.
• Marketing preferences: until you withdraw consent.
• Security logs: 1 year.

Depending on where you live (GDPR in the EEA, CCPA in California, LGPD in Brazil, and similar laws elsewhere), you can:

• Request a copy of your data (access and portability).
• Correct inaccurate data (rectification).
• Have your data deleted (erasure).
• Limit or object to certain processing.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Complain to your local data protection authority.

Walter is not directed at children under 16 (or the applicable age in your country). If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, contact info@walter.gg and we will delete it promptly.

When we change this policy we update the date below and, for material changes, we email account holders before the change takes effect.
