Walter flips it around

The game runs on Walter's rig and pixelstreams to your screen. Your device just shows the picture, so the phone in your pocket, the laptop from work and the TV in the living room all become a place to play. The expensive machine still exists. It is just ours now, and you borrow it by pressing play.

The part nobody says out loud

The industry keeps solving this problem for people who already own the hardware. Faster cards for players who have fast cards. Cloud tiers priced like a second console. Meanwhile three billion people play games, and most of them will never once press play on the titles this industry is proudest of.

That is the actual market. Not the upgrade cycle. The people outside it.
